WHO CAN COME TO CAMP?
Camp in the City is for those who have completed Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, or 5th grade. Campers are grouped with others their same age and gender with an 8:1 camper to counselor ratio.
WHAT TIME IS CAMP?
Camp runs from 9am-4pm, Monday-Friday. You may drop off campers starting at 8:40am each day. The last day of camp includes Closing Celebration starting at 4pm.
WHAT DOES MY CHILD DO AT CAMP?
Each day is jam packed with fun activities like bungee trampolines, rock wall, water slide, slip-n-slide, octaball, laser tag, swords, fashion show, and MORE! Your kids will come home TIRED! There is high-energy worship and funny skits to go along with what your kids are learning in Bible Study. Each activity also has a spiritual application. Pine Cove's Camp in the City is packing camp up and bringing it right to you – so group games, cheers, funny names, tents – your child will experience a little taste of camp close to home.
WHAT IF WE CAN’T BE THERE FOR THE WHOLE WEEK?
The latest campers can arrive is Tuesday, July 30th, at noon.
CAN I VOLUNTEER?
Thanks for asking! Pine Cove would love to have friendly faces greeting new families at the door each morning and afternoon. There are also opportunities like bringing a meal for the staff or hosting Pine Cove's staff in your home. Depending on the partnership, there may be opportunities for families to support a child financially in order for them to come to camp.
HOW DOES PINE COVE SELECT THEIR STAFF?
Pine Cove's Camp in the City full-time staff spend each fall interviewing college students at over 100 schools across the country. In addition to face-to-face interviews, background and references checks, they spend 2 weeks training their staff in abuse prevention and safety and job responsibilities. Pine Cove hires leadership staff to guide them and keep them accountable and have ongoing checkpoints to ensure the safety of staff and campers. Check out Pine Cove's safety practices here.
