Our purpose at NEHBC is to make disciples. These ministries are on the front lines of intentional and deliberate disciple - making among various age groups and seasons of life.
 

 

CHILDREN’S MINISTRY  

Children’s Ministry Volunteers work as a team to provide both care and biblical instruction to all children birth through fourth grade on Sunday mornings, Wednesday nights, and in our Children’s Choirs. All leaders and volunteers in the Children’s Ministry will need to attend appropriate training sessions and complete a background check and MinistrySafe online training prior to serving. Volunteers may serve in multiple areas within the Children’s Ministry.

This team assists members and guests in the Children’s Check-In area by welcoming children and parents, escorting guests to the proper classrooms, and answering general questions about the Children’s Ministry on Sunday mornings.

 

LITTLE BLESSINGS - SUNDAY MORNING
{Birth - Pre-K}

 

LITTLE BLESSINGS NURSERY {Newborns - Walkers}

This team assists with the needs of all babies and toddlers, engages children in simple songs, puzzles, play, and teaches children that God made them and loves them.  
 

LITTLE BLESSINGS Weekly SHEPHERD

This team works in the same class every Sunday for one service. They welcome the children and shepherd them through all activities. Shepherds lead the children in an opening 15 minute play activity. Supplies provided.
 

LITTLE BLESSINGS ASSISTANT SHEPHERD {one Sunday a month Minimum}

This team assists in a classroom for one service and serves at least once a month.
 

LITTLE BLESSINGS CRAFT TEACHER

This team leads the craft activity one service each Sunday with the assistance of the Shepherds and Assistant Shepherds. The craft materials are prepared in advance by another volunteer.
 

LITTLE BLESSINGS MUSIC TEACHER

This team leads the children in simple songs and movement one service each Sunday. Music provided. TV/DVD available.

 

LITTLE BLESSINGS BIBLE TEACHER

This team presents a Bible story to the children one service each Sunday. Curriculum, teaching aids and supplies provided.
 

pre-potter's wheel {pre-kindergarten}

This team teaches our pre-kindergarten children each Sunday. Teachers teach a Bible story, simple games and crafts. The craft is selected and prepared ahead of time by our craft team and a detailed curriculum is provided.

 

LITTLE BLESSINGS/pre-potter's wheel SPECIAL NEEDS SHEPHERD

This team provides one-on-one attention for a special needs child one service each Sunday by sitting with the child in preschool Little Blessings Bible Study Class and assisting him/her with activities. Special needs coaches are generally assigned to the same child each week.

 

POTTER’S WHEEL - SUNDAY MORNING
{Kindergarten - Fourth Grade}

 

POTTER’S WHEEL SHEPHERD

This team works with the same class one service each Sunday and leads the opening activities of the lesson which may include a short discussion or game. The Shepherd will assist the children in all activities led by the Potter’s Wheel Bible Teacher. Activities and supplies provided.
 

POTTER’S WHEEL BIBLE TEACHER

This team teaches the Bible lesson to the same class one service each Sunday. All curriculum and activities are provided and prepared in advance by the Potter’s Wheel Director.

CHOIR CHECK-IN TEAM 

This team assists members and guests in the Children’s Check-In area by welcoming children and parents, managing attendance records, and answering general questions about the children’s choirs.

 

ITTY BITTY PRAISES TEACHER {Potty Trained-Three Years}

This team leads choir activities for our youngest choir by teaching children simple songs, large motor movements, simple instruments, and prepares them for performances in both December and May. Members of this team must be able to model singing,
 

LITTLE PRAISES TEACHER {Pre-K - Kindergarten}

This team leads choir activities that will teach simple rhythms, stage presence, pitch matching, and prepares children for performances in both December and May. Members of this team must be able to model singing.
 

POTTER’S PRAISE TEACHER {First Grade-Fourth Grade}

This team leads choir activities that will teach rhythm, pitch matching, simple harmony, and prepares children for performances in December and May. Members of this team must be able to pitch match and model singing.

 

rising praise {fifth grade-sixth grade}

This team will teach simple harmony and rhythms to our fifth and sixth graders.  They will also prepare the children to perform in December and May as well as prepare them to join the NEHBC Praise Team in leading worship on select Sunday mornings.
 

 

wednesday nights

 

wednesday night nursery {infants - toddlers, year round}

This team provides childcare for children under the age of 2 years old on Wednesday nights.  Members of this team serve several times a month on a rotating schedule.

This team assists members and guests in the Children's Check-In area by welcoming parents and children and answering general questions.

 

AWANA (AUGUST - MAY) - WEDNESDAY EVENING
{2 years - 4th grade}

 

PUGGLES LEADER

This team leads class activities for 2 year olds every Wednesday night. Supplies provided.
 

CUBBIES LEADER

This team leads class activities for 3 and 4 year olds every Wednesday night. Supplies provided.
 

PUGGLES-CUBBIES MUSIC TEAM

This team leads all Puggles and Cubbies in music and a short puppet lesson. Music is taught to small groups in 10-12 minute sessions. Curriculum provided.
 

PUGGLES-CUBBIES CRAFT TEAM

This team prepares the preschool crafts in advance each Wednesday night for the preschool Awana teachers.

 

SPARKS TEACHER

This team listens to kindergarten to 2nd grade children recite verses and assists with activities and games weekly.
 

TRUTH & TRAINING TEACHER

This team listens to 3rd to 4th grade children recite verses and helps with activities and games weekly.
 

 

SUMMER 2018 - WEDNESDAY EVENING

 

HEARTSHAPERS TEACHER {2-3 year olds}

This team leads class activities such as Bible story, craft, music, play and snack each Wednesday. Curriculum provided.

KIDS ON MISSION TEACHER {completed Kindergarten - 4th grade}

This team leads class activities such as Bible, games and outside play with a missions emphasis each Wednesday. Curriculum provided.

 

ROUTE 56 MINISTRY

The LifeGroup Leader teaches 5th & 6th grade girls on Sunday mornings at 9:00 am in a small group Bible study setting. Curriculum provided. Volunteers will build relationships with the girls and assist them in learning Bible truths and applying them to their daily lives.

route 56 curriculum and teaching team

This team will plan, write, and deliver weekly lessons for 5th & 6th graders. They will share teaching and writing responsibilities and will have assistance and direction for curriculum development by a senior NEHBC staff member. They will assist in communicating with parents concerning Route 56 expectations and activities. Team members will also act as Small Group Facilitators [see below] on the nights they are not acting as a lead teacher.

The Route 56 Small Group Facilitator will lead small group activities and guide students in understanding the truths of God's Word as they apply it to their daily lives.

This volunteer plans and leads the opening game time for the Route 56 Wednesday night ministry. This volunteer should be fun-loving, energetic, and able to lead a group of 25-40 students.
