Farrington Mission

This inner-city mission is owned and operated by NEHBC in the heart of the Fifth Ward of Houston. Physical needs are met that provide opportunities to share the Gospel. 

 

 

                                                                                                                                                                                                                         

INTAKE                                             

This team is responsible for welcoming clients to the mission, explaining procedures and sharing the Gospel with them. This team serves on Monday nights from 5:45 - 8:00 PM.

 

FOOD PANTRY

The Monday morning team is responsible for picking up donated food, taking it to the mission, stocking it, and sorting these items (Mondays, 8:30 AM - 12:30 PM) in preparation for distribution.  Another team helps with distributing the food on Monday evenings (Mondays, 5:45 - 8:00 PM).

 

CLOTHES CLOSET

This team is responsible for picking up donations, sorting clothes (Monday mornings), and properly displaying them as well as distributing clothes on Monday nights from 5:45 - 8:00 PM.

 

MAINTENANCE/SECURITY

The maintenance team of volunteers is committed to cleaning and performing minor repair work at the mission. This team serves on an “as needed” basis. Experience with home repair, power tools, and ladder work are required.
 

BASKETBALL OUTREACH

This team reaches young men from the community around the mission on Thursday nights from 7:00 - 9:00 PM. Through the basketball ministry, avenues are created for many to hear the Gospel.
